A still image initially appears in a Preview window at actual size (100% magnification) or scaled to fit a window appropriate to your screen size, depending on your preferences settings.
To open a Contextual Menu: Control+click (Mac OS) right-click (Windows) in the Preview window to access this pop-up.

File Name: Displays the file name of the original image file. When a disk preview (see page 214) is being displayed, the words “Screen Preview of” precede the image name. |

Original Image: Scaled to 100% or to Fit to Window. |

Zoom In: Click to zoom in, so that you can see more image detail. |

Zoom Out: Click to zoom out, so you can see more of the image. |

Fit to Window: Click to fit the image to the window. |

Switch to Original: This button is dimmed when the Preview is created from the original image (from the source file) If a Disk Preview was created when the image was cataloged, this icon is enabled. Clicking it replaces the disk preview image with one created from the source file. |

Current Magnification: Displays current magnification. Use the Zoom tools and key commands from the View menu to examine the image. |

Image resolution: Displays image resolution in dpi. (Not available for all file types.) |

Image size (not available for all file types): Size is displayed in measurement type indicated in Edit > Preferences. Options are: inches, centimeters, millimeters, pixels. |

Partial image selection area: Select an area of the image to examine or copy. |

Preview window cursor: Crosshair cursor helps you select an area. |
